ABOUT ELLEN
Ellen Rock is a London-based artist, designer and creative innovator whose work explores identity, storytelling and belonging.
Through contemporary design and participatory practice, her distinctive visual language transforms personal and collective narratives into bold symbols.
Working across textiles, installations and public artworks, she creates cultural spaces that connect people, craft and place.
Ellen collaborates with artisans and communities to preserve and reinterpret traditional craft techniques including weaving, batik, dyeing and beading. Her work centres on knowledge exchange, creative expression and the power of making by hand.
Over the past decade Ellen has delivered commissions, exhibitions and workshops across the UK and internationally, including projects in Indonesia, Nepal, Guatemala, Bhutan, Denmark, the Middle East and across the UK. Her work has been presented at London and Jakarta Fashion Week, Copenhagen Fashion Summit and Asia House and featured by international media including BBC Culture, ITV News and Refinery29.
Her signature methodology, Symbol Stories, invites participants to explore identity through visual storytelling and collaborative design.
Utilising her public voice, Ellen also lectures about Sustainable Design Thinking and regularly speaks internationally about creative collaboration, culture and craft.

Ellen Rock Global is a craft, culture and design consultancy led by Creative Director Ellen Rock. Built from over a decade of international creative collaboration, the studio develops projects that connect design innovation with cultural knowledge, craft heritage and community participation.
The practice focuses on preserving and amplifying traditional knowledge while supporting contemporary design and sustainable cultural economies.
