GUATEMALA : SOCIETAS

 

A capsule collaboration between Ellen Rock and MEÜS which saw the designers working to produce the ‘Societas’ collection alongside 3 artisan cooperatives in rural Guatemala. Each masters in their own technique; Adiba (beading) Chuwila (embroidery) and Las Rosas (Backstrap weaving)

JAPAN 

 

Inspired by her trip to Japan these pieces explore a printmaking collaboration with the calligraphy students of Japan of Mikuni High, celebrating expression and painting.

 

PALESTINE

 

An accessories collaboration with Women in Hebron,exploring cross stitch as protest and the female voice. 

 

‘GLOBELLE was the title of her latest collection, named after the collaboration with textiles workers around the world. The series shows beading, embroidery and weaving techniques from collaborations with hand-workers in Guatemala, prints created alongside calligraphy students in Japan, and cross-stitching with Women in Hebron, Palestine. With activist Glacier Girl among those modelling, this presentation was one that inspired a change towards a slower fashion, achieved through celebrating collective female talent and artisan production’ Galdem
